Even though the applicant may be a native of the country which is included in the list of the 166 counties offered the Indian E-Visa, they may not be personally eligible for gaining an E-Visa due to a failure in being in possession of the necessary documents.

To make sure that the Austrian citizen is eligible to apply for an Indian E-Visa, they must be in possession of the following documents:-

  1. Passport:- Without a passport, no traveller will be given permission to enter the Indian borders. In the same way, if the passport expires, it won't be accepted as a valid document to enter India. That's why the Austrian citizen must ensure that their passport has a validity of at least 30 days, 60 days or 90 days starting from the day they enter India.
  2. The passport should not only have a proper validity, but it should also contain two blank pages. This is because when they enter India an entry stamp will be given on the passport. Similarly, if the Austrian visitor exits the country, they will be given an exit stamp as well.
  3. Every Austrian individual who is travelling to India regardless of if they are in a group or alone must carry passports of Austrian origin. Plus each member should have individual passports no matter what their age is.
  4. If there are children who are travelling with his/her parents or guardian, they will need to carry a separate passport for himself and cannot use a joint passport.
  5. The child will also be required to have an individual application form filled under their name. No joint application form will be allowed for the chicken no matter what their age is.
  6. Individuals who are in possession of a Diplomatic passport cannot apply for an Indian electronic Visa. Along with that, the individuals with International Travel Documents will not be allowed to apply for an India electronic visa.
  7. The visas are not convertible. This means that the Indian electronic tourist Visa cannot be changed into an Indian electronic business or medical Visa and vice versa. The applicant must apply for the appropriate Visa wisely.
  8. Each visa has a specific length under which they can travel and stay in the country. The Indian electronic Visa does not allow the traveller to stay in the country beyond the mentioned limit on their visas. This is indicative of the non-extendable nature of the Indian E-Visa.
  9. The Indian Tourist Visa gained online has set a maximum allowable length of ninety days in a row. Even one day past these ninety days won't allow the traveller to stay in India.
  10. Each Austrian native applying for an Indian Visa will be granted a visa only two times in a calendar year. This is more than enough for any traveller based on their need and purpose of the Visa.
  11. A basic requirement of the Indian E-Visa is that the traveller must be in possession of a return ticket. Or a ticket for the further travel locations if they are gaining a Visa for transit. This must be kept ready before they start applying for the Indian electronic tourist Visa.
  12. If the Visa is gained with an approved status, then the traveller will have to convert the soft copy nature of the visa into a hard copy nature by printing the Visa out on a paper. Plus the visa should be kept with the traveller at all times during their stay and travel in the Indian states.

The Indian Tourist Visa enables Austrian travellers to enter the borders of India through thirty-three specified entry and exit ports. These include thirty one international airports in the various states of India. And six seaports through which entry and exit will be made available for Austrian natives.

The Austrian applicants are given the choice of choosing their preferred entry and exit ports. They can even select Authorised Immigration Check Posts. This will be regarding their departure from India.

Austrian passport holders who have decided to enter the Indian border via land or sea will not be enabled to gain an E-Visa. They will have to gain a Visa from the local authorities like an embassy. Or consulate before they enter India.
