Indian e-Visa Application Process for Children

The procedure for getting an Indian e-Visa for kids is the same as for adults. The parents or legal guardians apply for the visa online from an official website. Each kid needs a separate travel document. This process also involved filling out an application, uploading necessary documents, etc.

Necessary Documents

When traveling to India with children, make sure you have all the appropriate papers, including-

  • A valid visa.
  • The passport used for the visa application.
  • Vaccination certificates for yellow fever and polio (if applicable).
  • The minor's identification and birth certificate
  • Medical information: allergies, vaccines, special needs.
  • A consent letter signed by the child's parents or guardians, if traveling with someone else's child.

  • Validity of Indian visas for minors

Indian e-Visas for children are as valid as those for adults.

  • A 1-month e-tourist Visa is valid for 30 days.
  • 1-Year e-Tourist Visa is valid for 365 days.

Legally valid minors can also obtain e-Medical and e-Business visas.

Passport Requirements

A valid passport is required to apply for an Indian e-Visa for children. Children under the age of 16 who are mentioned on their parents' passports are not required to have one. Children above the age of 16 require a valid passport.

OCI for Babies

Children and babies with dual citizenship or Indian Overseas Citizenship require an OCI card to travel. If your kid does not have an OCI, he or she should have a valid passport.
